Michelle Lagos

Michelle Alejandra Lagos Briones is originally from Mexico City and graduated in Percussion from the Escuela Superior de Música INBA.
She has been an auxiliary musician for various professional orchestras in the country such as the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the Eduardo Mata University Youth Orchestra, among others.
Her most notable participation is with the Orquesta del Teatro de Bellas Artes in Mexico City where she has been able to develop as a professional musician working for the National Opera Company and the National Dance Company in venues such as the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the National Auditorium from 2017 to the present.
As part of her training as a professional musician, she has taken various master classes with percussionists from around the world such as: Fedor Khandrikov, Kai and Marc Strobel, Matthias Kelemen, Ludwig Albert, Takayoshi Yoshioka, Conrado Moya, Nebosja J. Zivkovic, among others.
She has also participated in various festivals, courses, workshops and events around Mexico and the world, such as the Santiago de Querétaro Music Festival (2015), 3rd UDLAP Symphonic Bands Meeting, Puebla (2018), as a percussion teacher at the Latin American Youth Orchestra, Cancun (2019), 15th Edition of the Santa Catarina Music Festival, Brazil (2020), 1st Virtual Diploma in the improvement of musical interpretation with Verónica Cagigao marimba (2020-2021), Festival International de Musiques Universitaires 2022 in Belfort, France, active participant of the Boum Percussion Academy 2022 in Stuttgart, Germany and recently as a musician of the National Folk Orchestra of Mexico musicalizing the Coco Movie on Tour in the United States by Disney Concerts.
She has sponsorships from Gemes-M3 and Sensi In-Ears.
She is currently the General Director of the Orquesta de Alientos Metropolitana, percussionist of the Pulso Interno Ensemble and workshop facilitator at the UNAM Artistic Liaison Unit.
