Dr. Caitlin Jones
Dr. Caitlin Jones is a professional percussionist who has an active career as a performer and educator. She has performed across the United States as a soloist and as a member of the Harnsberger/Jones Duo. In 2018, Caitlin was the marimba soloist for the American premiere of Roumen Boyadjieff, Jr.’s Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra with the Cleveland Orchestra of Tennessee. She recently performed this work for the second time in America with full orchestra in October 2021, and will be performing this concerto with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra in 2025. In 2023, Caitlin Jones and Andy Harnsberger formed the Harnsberger/Jones Duo. The duo focuses on the advancement of marimba repertoire and frequently performs new works for a variety of audiences. Collectively, their YouTube channels have amassed over 1.7 million views.
Caitlin has presented at Percussive Arts Society Days of Percussion and throughout the US on various topics, including health and wellness for musicians, and creating and maintaining careers in music. She has performed in various orchestras and today frequently performs with the Chattanooga Symphony and Knoxville Symphony.
Caitlin was noted as an “Emerging Leader” by the Percussive Arts Society in 2016 and made her debut performance at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 2019. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Florida, Master of Music from Lee University, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of South Carolina. Caitlin is currently endorsed by Malletech Instruments and teaches at Lee University and Chattanooga State Community College.
