Andre is an active performing percussionist and educator based out of the greater St. Louisregion. He currently serves as Principal Percussionist of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra (FL), and the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra (MI). He is also Director of Percussion Studies/Spirit Band at McKendree University (IL), and Percussion Director for the Belleville Township High School Music Department (IL).
Additional performance highlights include work with the Louisiana Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Brass Band, and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. He has premiered works by Elliot Carter, Charles Wuorinen, John Harbison, and Mason Bates, with recordings on both the Bridge and Naxos labels.
As a student, Andre attended the Tanglewood Music Center, and Aspen Music Festival. He holds performance degrees from Central Michigan University, and was the Avedis Zildjian Scholarship recipient at the New England Conservatory of Music as a graduate student. His primary teachers were Dr. Andrew Spencer, Frank Epstein, and Will Hudgins.
Before moving to the Midwest, Andre lived in Boston, MA, served on the Board of the
Massachusetts Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, was a percussion instructor for the Boston College Bands Program, and spent several summers on faculty at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
